Tourism helps Morocco open its doors towards the world and it is our company ethos to foster the mixing of cultures so as to learn about each others way of living and to promote understanding and tolerance between the two.

Please note that whilst travelling with us you will need two bags, one to have with you and one to travel separately to each nighttime destination. With a spirit of tolerance and helpfulness we aim to communicate our love of our country and to help you discover the daily life and lifestyle of people living in the regions being visited, along with learning about the local traditions and customs.

The staff of Guide Trekking Maroc consists of :

Tour Operators : their job is to reconnoiter all the areas where our trips take place; the routes, accommodation, camping sites and foster good relations with the local population. They are responsible for collecting information on the destinations we offer on our website to ensure quality services.

Advisers : skilled men and women who are at your disposal to answer your many questions and to help guide you in deciding on the best trip that suits your needs and wishes.

Guides : all our guides are native Berbers from the mountains who have graduated from the center of training in mountain jobs, qualified and approved by the Ministry of Tourism. They speak English, French, German, Spanish and Arabic.

Muleteers & cameleers : real nomads, with their mules and camels who will carry your luggage and provide the necessary logistics for the trip. They know the field through extensive experience gained in working with their herds of goats and sheep.

Cooks : Guide Trekking Maroc has excellent cooks who know how to cook simple but delicious meals with fresh products, providing excellent food for you during your trip.

Drivers : Guide Trekking Maroc runs a tourist transport agency, based in Marrakech. It puts at your disposal a team of experienced drivers and a fleet of vehicles, always maintained and in very good condition.

Khalid Oukraou is the dynamic founder of Guide Trekking Maroc. After studies at Kadi Ayad University, he decided on a career that allowed him to explore diverse parts of the country and share its beauty with those interested in discovery and adventure.

After graduating from the Centre de Formation Aux Metiers de Montagne, Certificate N° ZA549/09 (mountain and desert guide training centre), Khalid was qualified and approved by the Moroccan Tourism Ministry.

Today, with several years experience behind him, Khalid has a thorough knowledge and understanding of the technical, legal and commercial developments within the tourism environment.  His professional approach ensures all Guide Trekking Maroc trips are well-organised and enjoyable, and he would be happy to provide references from clients of previous treks and tours.

Khalid always has the best interests and satisfaction of his clients in mind so that people can participate free of concerns. His knowledge of the mountains and valleys of the Atlas and the deserts beyond, coupled with his training, ensure his clients experience the timeless wonders of nature in safety and security.  His extensive cultural knowledge not only benefits clients visiting the remote mountain villages and desert oases, but also those interested in exploring the ancient cities and Atlantic coastal towns.

A skilled young man with a spirit of adventure, Khalid speaks English, French, German and Arabic. He is therefore able to communicate easily to share his knowledge of the colorful history and rich culture of Morocco. His own interest in nature and his surroundings ensures there is ample time for travellers to appreciate and experience the uniqueness of Morocco from its vibrant medinas to the remote mountains and desert regions.
